This kind of antenna is installed on several helicopter types on several positions. The fixing method is with screws from the inside of the helicopter so can be easily installed on a ready finished model without damiging of the finish because of glue. Depend of the position it can be that the socket need a smal adjustment. (please take a look on the start page under "adjustment on curved surfaces"). The antenna has a fixing plate which can be used as a template for drilling.
